That it happened in the same city where Australia famously conquered the final frontier four years ago was poignant. India regained the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy, their first series win over Australia in eight years, after they bowled Australia out for 209 to win by 172 runs. It was a dramatic day, with an energetic India following up three early wickets with dropped catches to allow Matthew Hayden score a pugnacious 77 and give Australia a whiff of victory. India’s spinners held their nerve, however, and relentlessly plugged away with precision and hostility to snuff out the seven wickets required to regain the trophy squandered in 2004. India confidently stepped into a new era with their captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, winning his third Test in a row.

In a touching tribute to Sourav Ganguly, who signed off in this Test, Dhoni let him captain the side as the final rites were being administered. When the last wicket fell just before tea, Mitchell Johnson trapped lbw by a Harbhajan doosra, Ganguly and Dhoni embraced at the centre of India’s raucous celebrations. Ganguly had played a key role in shaping cricket’s most enthralling current rivalry back in 2001, and he can leave the game knowing that it has been passed on into worthy hands. Dhoni led his team off in style, while people made room for Ganguly to say his final goodbyes. There was no overly emotional reaction from Ganguly; bar one fling at Lord’s, his touch had always been too nuanced for that.

For Indian fans this win may not be as emotional or emphatic as Rawalpindi in 2004 or Jamaica in in 2006 - where India broke elusive and painstaking barriers - but there’s no denying the significance of this Indian autumn.

Now before anyone gets hysterical, remember, these are just design concepts, not actual architectural plans. The Nanocity concept is one of strategic urban planning — meaning individual developers will, as IU said, develop individual plots within the city, using their own architects and designs. Just that the Nanocity planning committee will get to approve the architecture to ensure compliance with the planning model and, I’d assume, quality of architecture.

What this means is real organic city growth based on market considerations and with a view toward discernibility and organized development that will be hopefully replicated in other Indian cities. In this model, a real cityscape will develop with a real skyline — not like Dubai or other India cities’ simcity-like megaprojects where fifty buildings are all done by one architect or developer. A real skyline is jumbled, organic, natural looking — like Chicago or even Mumbai — something I fear a lot of CBD-type projects, like that of Hyderabad, GIFT or Noida, may not be.

This will generate about 4megawatt - enough to light up 4,000 homes.

This ‘in principle approval give it the tag of being the first electricity generation civic project in India, supported by the MNES. “WE will get about Rs 2 crore from each megawatt, which will total up to about Rs 8 crore for the 4 megawatts,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner R.A. Rajeev.

About 3,000 tonnes of garbage from the city is dumped at the yard everyday. sixty five acres of the yard will be partially closed for the plant. The city’ present power requirement is about 2700MW, while the caacity of installed utilities, which includes Tata Power Company and Reliance Energy, is around 2,200 MW.

The 35-year-old, who has already secured his place among the pantheon of all-time great batsmen, achieved the landmark on the first day of the second Test against Australia.

He already holds the records for most Test hundreds (39), one-day runs (16,361) and centuries (42) and is the third-most capped Test player (152) behind Australia’s Steve Waugh (168) and Allan Border (156).

Located in the heart of Jodhpur – and less than 3km from the airport, this development totals 61,000m² and features a three-storey retail mall crowned with an entertainment level that boasts a multiplex cinema, food courts and fine dining restaurants.

The retail and leisure components link directly to the adjacent, 135 room five star hotel.

The retail hotel mix is a growing trend in India and for this project, Benoy’s designs propose a full retail frontage onto the road with a raised, private drop-off entrance at the side.

The hotel sits above the retail and is designed in the traditional courtyard style - offering most guest rooms wonderful views of the Old City and its palaces.

The over-riding architectural principle adopted for this project is the introduction of a contemporary interpretation of traditional Indian architecture.

A continuous variation of modular sandstone walls forms a front layer of balconies, alcoves, and shadows that create visual perforations along the main structure. Ruptures to the façade’s rhythm will highlight the entrances to the mall, where the walls playfully vary in height and angle.

I hope this project should complete sooner or later. It will give a boost to jodhpur, it is the 2nd largest and known city of of Rajasthan after jaipur. Rajasthan goverment should develope this city and bring IIT here too. People have money in their pocket in Jodhpur and millions of tourists come to jodhpur aswel. Idont think this mall a failture.

Noida is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Conceived as a one of several greenfield metropolitan nodes that would focus the development of both Old and New Dehli, it features world-class infrastructure designed to support support high-capacity residential and commercial development. The eventual plan by 2015 is to have a fully modern central business district comprising commercial skyscrapers around at least one supertall — one of several CBD nodal cities (which also includes Faridabad, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad.)

Unitech is one of India’s largest builders, and continually have churned out world-class buildings with a cutting-edge architecture that is designed to be a modern take on traditional Indian architecture, even to the point of being designed to adhere to ancient Vaastu principals. Their towers, like those of all developers in India, continue to grow taller and taller with each project. It’s expected that their Mumbai project on mill-land redevelopments will be even taller still.

Unitech Grande is located in a sub-section of Noida called “Express City.” In 2006 Unitech purchased the property that would later become Unitech Grande after intense bidding in what was then India’s biggest land deal (in only one year since then, this record surpassed by a factor of several tens larger.)

Unitech Grande comprises over 80 highrises that surround a park and golf course. The tallest at 50 stories, and 5 in the 40 storey range that act as peaks in the string of buildings.
